I’ve installed numerous recessed can lights like this, so I’m not unfamiliar with the product or the installation process. I must say, I’m quite impressed with the quality of these fixtures. They’re comparable to what you might find at major home improvement stores in every aspect, but at a significantly lower cost.
The packaging was excellent, and none of the fixtures had any issues. There were no crumpled gaskets, twisted wires, bent housings, or missing or broken parts. The installation process was consistent for each fixture, with no problems encountered.
More importantly, their performance is exceptional. The light throw is thorough and even, with no hot spots or shadows. I’m also impressed with their light output. They provide more than enough illumination for their size, so you won’t need many fixtures to evenly light a room or space.
The only complaint I have is regarding the diameter. The fixtures are Ø6.7”, and the manufacturer recommends cutting a 6.25” hole, leaving less than 1/4” of a lip for the light to hold onto. This leaves virtually no room for error, so if you plan to cut the hole by hand, be extremely careful to undercut the hole (and use a utility knife with a fresh blade instead of a keyhole saw).
If you use a hole saw, the ones designed for 6” recessed lighting are usually 6-3/8”, so you’re in danger if you use one of those. In any case, for drywall, if you somehow crumble or tear the edge of your hole, it will be visible when the light is installed.
